Huawei Cloud Launches its Blockchain Service Globally

According to an official press release by the company, Huawei Cloud has launched its Blockchain Service (BCS) for global use.

Huawei Cloud is the cloud services arm of Huawei Global. The company rolled out BCS for commercial use in China earlier this year, and now it has made it available globally.

What is BCS?

Blockchain Service, powered by Huawei Cloud, was created to help “global entrepreneurs and developers to “create, deploy, and manage blockchain applications quickly and at minimal cost on Huawei Cloud.”

This cloud service is based on the blockchain and can be utilized in a range of industries including finance, data applications, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Surprisingly, BCS will cover a range of scenarios including food source tracing, data transactions, proof of information and many others.

According to the announcement, this global launch of BCS will also lay the foundation of a soon to be launched global blockchain platform.

Huawei claims that BCS is efficient and flexible which will allow the developers to join, quit or switch multi-role nodes and members. The press release further highlighted another important advantage which is the reduced cost of deployment with the utmost security and protection.

In addition to this, BCS also boasts of a simple configuration, easy deployment, enhanced efficiency and flexibility along with cost-effectiveness.

BCS will allow a company to establish a blockchain system according to their business needs within just 5 to 10 minutes, claims the company.

An Active Contributor

Huawei has been quite active in the blockchain industry and partnered with Hyperledger to launch the Linux Foundation in 2016. Due to its active technical contributions to STL and Fabric, Huawei is also the major maintainer of Hyperledger, with whom they’ve been partners since 2016.

Earlier this year, Huawei also launched blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) platform. On the same lines, Huawei even launched its blockchain-based smartphone a few days ago. What’s more? The firm also added its Bitcoin wallet app, BTC.com in its app store in May this year. Safe to say, Huawei is a big proponent of the technology and they’re quite ahead in the race.
