Outre les onze banques participantes, trois banques font partie de l’initiative en tant que membres extérieurs, à savoir la Bank of Baroda, la IndusInd Bank et la State Bank of India.

Ce développement récent est organisé en consortium et s’appelle «Blockchain Infrastructure Company».
Selon le vice-gouverneur de la Reserve Bank of India (RBI), qui est également la banque centrale de l’Inde, Viral Acharya, «le taux de pénétration du crédit est faible pour le secteur [des MPME] où le volume du billet est généralement compris entre 10 roupies lakhs.
