La société a donné une durée de douze mois aux fournisseurs pour installer le nouveau système. Ce programme non seulement sécurisera les aliments, mais aidera également l’entreprise à économiser de l’argent en réduisant les problèmes liés à la supply chain.
«En utilisant le réseau Food Trust d’IBM ,qui s’appuie sur la technologie de la blockchain, nous avons montré qu’il était possible de réduire le temps nécessaire pour suivre un élément alimentaire d’un magasin Walmart jusqu’à [la] source en quelques secondes, par rapport à quelques jours ou parfois semaines. »
